16 children received daily 10 grams of Spirulina Maxima with a nutritional diet based on local products. The study was carried out in a nutritional center. After one month, the evolution of malnourished children, total proteins, albumin and body volume had increased considerably.
The study was a success and gave more weight to the recommendation of the O.N.U.
In central Africa, we find the lake Chad. This lake became one of the largest freshwater reserves on the planet. There scientists observed that a tribe settled by this lake, the Kanembu, despite living in a hostile land with food shortages, were strong and well developed. After researching the food that the Kanembu consumed, they found some green cakes composed of micro algae, which once dried were part of their daily diet. These scientists analyzed the composition of green algae and found a large amount of minerals, vitamins, proteins and amino acids: A superfood called Spirulina.
Both the Aztecs and the Kanembu were unaware that they had before them the “food of the millennium.” On October 31, 2005, the UN, through the Intergovernmental Institute for the use of Spirulina microalgae, in order to correct malnutrition, published a resolution recommending the use of Spirulina in humanitarian emergencies and malnutrition. Recognizing the properties of this superfood and proposing it as a possible solution to food problems worldwide.
We find one of the natural sources with more proteins. 70% vegetable protein with a high value. This incredible figure supposes a percentage of protein very superior to beef (22%) or pork (28%) with a minimum caloric intake.
This energizing microalga, due to the large amount of nutrients it contains, is able to fight anemia, prevent blindness and serious eye diseases
Highly recommended for cases of demineralization and a great ally for athletes.
Spirulina is increasingly consumed as a nutritional supplement . A study carried out with Polish consumers, verified that algae such as maximum Spirulina and Chlorella vulgaris are consumed continuously to complement nutrition, to immunize and detoxify the organism. The majority of these consumers were vegans or ovolactovegetarians. It was surprising the great information that everyone (both consumers and not) had of the benefits of the consumption of these algae.
Spirulina has a large amount of nutrients .
It provides our body:
- Vitamins (B1, B2, B3, B6, E, C, D, A and B12)
- Minerals (sodium, phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, calcium, iron, zinc)
- Essential fatty acids
- Nucleic acids (DNA and RNA)
- A wide range of phytochemicals
